A Howl of a Show on Tillson Street

The Show Must Go On!

The goblins, ghouls and skeletons are at it again on Tillson Street in Romeo, MI! During the Halloween season the homeowners on Tillson Street create a spook-tacular Halloween show that will make you a believer in the paranormal! Nearly every house on the two blocks is turned into an extravaganza for Halloween. Hundreds, if not thousands flock to see this fabulous display of workmanship and art.scary

I spoke with a gentleman while I was strolling down the street. He said he has lived on Tillson street a very long time but doesn’t know for sure how the event got so big. However, in the past ten years he said it has grown into a historic event for this historic village.

It Doesn’t Matter To Me!

It doesn’t really matter to me how the event got started. I just enjoy the visual display each year. On Saturday evening past I was here with my two sister and I was amazed at how many people were here. Usually, I come here during the week when the crowd is smaller. I am glad to see that this little village welcomes so many people to their ghastly display.

But That’s Not All Folks!

Tillson Street provides a safe, family oriented Halloween experience at zero cost to visitors. (However, some business owners have started charging between $3-$5 to park.) Each year, Tillson Street has a fundraiser with all proceeds benefiting various local and national charities. Last year, Tillson Street raised over $6,000 for local high school students as well as Wounded Warrior. This year they are selling T-shirts, cookbooks with Tillson Street family favorite recipes, hot chocolate, cider and doughnuts. Tillson Street also sponsored a food driveĀ  on October 24th & 25th to be donated to local food banks. Finally, there is a donation box at the “Charlie Brown” display for children’s cancer research.great punmpkin

And Of Course, There’s Bear

Bear did go with me when I went during the day. You’ll see him in one or two of the pictures, waiting for a dance partner. Enjoy this slideshow and have a safe and Happy Halloween!
